OFEN  GYROS   

Oven Gyros

800 g turkey meat
3 tsp. gyros seasoning
1 red pepper
1 large onion
1 tbsp. tomato purée
200 ml whipping cream
150 ml sour cream
1 tsp. paprika powder (sweet)
1 tsp. garlic powder
150 g Emmental cheese (grated)
oil

 

Cut the turkey into thin strips and mix well with the gyros seasoning. Leave to marinate for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan oven.) Cut the pepper and onion into fine strips, mix with the meat and place everything in a greased baking dish. For the sauce, mix the whipping cream with the tomato paste and add the sour cream and spices. Pour the sauce over the meat so that everything is well covered. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake in the oven for approx. 45 minutes until golden brown.
