APFELTORTE  

Apple Pie

1kg apples
6 eggs
210 g sugar
150 g butter
220 g flour
1 packet of baking powder
juice of 1 lemon
a pinch of salt
40 g granulated sugar for sprinkling
 

  Wash apples, peel them and remove the cores. Then place them in lemon water. Separate the eggs, beat sugar, butter and egg yolks until fluffy. The egg whites whisk with salt until stiff. Mix flour with baking powder and mix alternately with the beaten egg whites and the yolk mass. Preheat oven to 180 °. Cover a springform pan (24 cm diameter) with butter and flour. Fill in the mass, take the apples from the lemon water, quarter them and put a ring on the cake mass. Sprinkle the cake with granulated sugar and bake in oven about 1 hour. Remove the cake from the oven, take cool for leave and then open the spring form.
